It's true. There are a lot of Christian and conservative political talk shows that I like.
However, music plays a deep part in my life - both in creating it myself and in listening to it played.
And perhaps no other singer/songwriter has affected me the way Steven Curtis Chapman has. Everything from his lyrics, to his music, and even the way he has lived an amazing family life in a very public eye, has impacted my Christian walk in some way.
This morning I learned the very tragic news that the youngest of the Chapman's adopted daugthers was killed yesterday as she was accidentally run over in the family's driveway. The death of Maria Chapman came just ten days after her fifth birthday, and just hours after the annoucement of the Chapman's oldest daugther's engagement.

I too found out this morning and have spent much time grieving with them in their loss. I have been on maria's website as well as listened to the Cinderella song several times. It truly is heart wrenching and I imagine the most difficult experience a parent and family can face. I can't begin to imagine.
What a tragedy. My heart is broken for them. I can't imagine loosing one of my girls...I went to the website and watched the video of Maria washing dishes with her dad. What a beautiful beautiful little girl. Jesus, I know you are holding Maria tightly.
I was sent an email the morning after, as well. It was so sad; the same day an eight year old boy in our neighborhood was killed in the backseat of a car driven by his older brother (they were hit by a drunk driver). It seemed it was a tragic day overall...I pray that all families can lean on the LORD in times like these - bless you!
