BABY JOSHUA IS HERE!

Joshua Alexander Smith made his entrance into the world on leap year - Friday, February 29th at 10:22 p.m. He weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20 inches long.

Yup - this boy is big. I ended up being induced around 3:00 p.m. on Friday, and after a lot of labor, Joshua came with five minutes of pushing. There was a push or two where his shoulders got stuck and my OB informs me we were "this close" to an emergency C-section. Praise God though, one more mighty push and Joshua came out - albeit with a LOT of bruising on his poor little face (they told me he came down really fast and hit his nose/face on my pelvic bone).

We are all home now and Joshua is doing well. The girls are super excited about their baby "brudder" (as Lauren calls him). We are moving slow (and I'm a little sore..) but we are just so thankful for all of God's blessings in getting our son here safely!

We'll send more pictures and updates in the days ahead!

P.S. Arnicare cream works wonders for bruising (homeopathic). :-)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pastor Scott and Margo were celebrating with you all in Spirit, he even alluded to it in his talk before communion on Sunday. :-)
